About us: the story behind Lapso

We didn’t start in a hotel lobby. We started in an apartment in Mexico that didn’t quite feel right.

How the alternative to hotels and Airbnb was born in Mexico

We traveled a lot. And every time, it was the same: hotels didn’t offer enough space or freedom; Airbnb rentals left us unsure of what we’d find when we opened the door.


Why was there no middle ground in Mexico? A place to stay with the design and consistency of a good hotel, but with the space, full kitchen, and independence of an apartment. No front desks, no surprises, no crossing your fingers.


That’s how Lapso was born: not as a hotel or an Airbnb, but as a category of its own. Hybrid hospitality, made in Mexico.
